Reasons why cats wag their tails

You may often see dogs wagging their tails, so are cats wagging their tails as happy as dogs? Compared with most other animals, interpreting cats’ behavior is much more complicated and more challenging. Many times, we incorrectly use the experience of canines to explain why cats behave in a certain way.

1. Wag tail while sleeping

When a cat is dozing or entering light sleep, when you touch him or call them, they will wave their tails to show that they know you are there, but they feel safe enough to continue sleeping. This cat tail language is the way they speak.

2. The cat's tail is upright

If your cat has its tail upright and the cat on its tail is fluffy, it is very likely that they feel that they are in danger and are ready to fight against others.

3. Cats wagging their tails when hunting

When the cat finds insects or birds outside the window, the cat will swing tail and prepare to rush towards his target. The purpose of swinging tail is to keep balanced and agile.

4. Wag the tail when lying down

Cats are very good at hiding pain. If your cat feels uncomfortable and you find them waving their tails when lying down, it may be a sign of pain. In these cases, it is best to go to a veterinarian for inspection.

5. Express an excitement

If your cat’s tail is upright and swaying from the bottom up, it usually means he is excited. He may be playing next to the furniture or the trash can at this time

6. Express a sense of confidence

A confident and happy cat will walk around with its tail straight, and the tip of its tail will swing slightly. This is an interesting pose.
